About Us

Bill Drost, owner of Baywinds Consulting is a senior engineer with over 40 years’ experience in the private and public sectors. His engineering roots stem from plant and process engineering with some of Canada’s best-known food companies. His current expertise is in energy, construction and project management. He has also worked extensively in the bioscience, fishing and aquaculture sector.

Bill has led a number of public and stakeholder consultations and delivered the promised results to his clients. His professional experience is varied and extensive. He has worked as a professional engineer, Deputy Minister and even a Commissioner of Marriages along with his continued duties as a Councillor for the Resort Municipality of Cavendish. Mr. Drost’s engineering and management abilities have been recognized by his peers. He was invited to join the “Fellowship” of Engineers Canada. Only 3 percent of Canada’s engineers have this distinction. He has also been nominated for Young Engineer of the Year for Canada and awarded the same honour in Prince Edward Island.

Keith Girard is an Electrical Engineering Technologist with an advanced diploma from Algonquin College. He previously worked as a Junior Engineer in Ontario in manufacturing for one of Canada’s leading defense contractors. Keith Joined the Bay Winds Consulting team in November of 2020 after moving back to PEI. Since starting with Bay Winds Consulting Keith has been able to add a wide variety of expertise to his resume. Keith is involved with drafting, construction design, electrical and mechanical design, site visits and inspections, data conversion and comprehension, energy assessments, and continues to learn and build on his skills while working for Bay Winds Consulting.
